Amber Peach Talks Pornstars and Obamacare. ‘Pornstars Get the Shaft’.

$

I recently came across an article on the Huffpost by the glorious and sweet Amber Peach.

Isn’t she cute folks?

She may be cute but but she’s also wicked smart. This gorgeous pornstar wrote an amazing blog on how ‘Pornstars are Getiing the Shaft from Obamacare’. It’s really sad.

Not only do these gorgeous girls only make approximately $30,000 a year, but the average girl only does about 300 scenes in their lifetime.  Despite this limited career they are considered ‘high risk’ candidates, and it won’t even pay for their STD testing which is required every 28 days. These girls and boys are paying out-of-pocket!

Read the article below and tell us what you think of Obamacare’s plan to ‘stiff’ these adult actors.

(From Huffpost link; http://www.huffingtonpost.com/amber-peach/porn-stars-obamacare_b_1676552.html) BY Amber Peach @AmberPeach, http://www.amberpachraw.com

Porn stars make a ton of money for having sex with relative strangers on camera, right?

Whether we would like to admit it or not, most of us have enjoyed at least one adult movie in our lifetime. But with documentaries like After Porn Ends, which came out last month, and Obamacare dominating the news, have you ever wondered what these two things have in common? Probably not. But here is a little known fact: up until now, insurance companies considered doing pornography for a living a “pre-existing condition.” This means, even if the average female porn star, who (on the high end) may do 300 scenes in her career that spans maybe 10 years, that’s about $30,000 a year. And more than likely, she doesn’t have health insurance. Yep, you heard me right, porn stars don’t make much more money than the average American. We have all heard that porn is a billion or even trillion-dollar business, but like most porn stars’ boobs, that number is actually a little over-inflated. According to Forbes the figure is closer to around $520 million, which is then distributed among countless companies. Most of this profit goes to the top, the majority of the actors themselves not getting any type of residuals — only being paid on a scene-by-scene basis as an independent contractor. But I digress.

So back to my original point, how will the president’s new healthcare plan affect porn stars? Well, considering that most porn actors are considered independent contractors, none of them would be eligible for healthcare through their employer. So that would mean that they would be responsible for finding their own health insurance. But in theory, insurance companies would no longer be able to completely deny adult industry workers insurance. But would they still have to pay a premium for “high-risk” insurance — insurance that runs about $500 per month? This would mean that men and women would have to pay roughly 20% of their monthly income on health insurance.

Even factoring in feature dancing and other income, $500 a month is a lot for health insurance. And this doesn’t include STD testing, which performers have always paid out-of-pocket every 28 days. This would only be health insurance in case of emergency, in case something terrible happened like they got cancer or were in a car accident. Under the current healthcare system, most adult performers rely on luck and little else when it comes to health care. And when something does go wrong, like in the case of Nicki Hunter, co-host of Playboy Radio’s Night Calls, who found out she had lymphoblastic leukemia in 2007. Nicki found that her fellow performers were willing to pull together and do fundraisers to help her pay off the mountain of debt caused by her illness. Or Stephanie Swift, who also got cancer and racked up a ton of debt. And even the most resent tragedy to befall the porn community, the death of Holly Stevens from cancer. He may not want to think about it just yet, but her husband now has stacks of medical bills to figure out how to pay, in addition to grieving for his wife. And not everyone has the admiration and backing like some of these stars do. Not everyone will get help from the porn community and fans.

So as the rest of the nation, and the world, waits to see if the healthcare bill will even be implemented, the adult film community holds its breath to see just how they will be affected. Will they finally have the security of health insurance, or will they get the shaft like they have so many times before?

There are few things in this world that have my heart. One is the house of Dior. Classy, timeless and run by Raf Simons, it is purely chic. Delicious even.

The other is my old school, goth, new wave upbringing. Namely Depeche Mode who has a soundtrack to everything in my life. Their music was timeless and full of top 40 songs I have danced to since the 80s.

What do you get when you mix awesome English band Depeche Mode with Dior?

This beautifully done campaign video. Originally released in a short version the final, long version will steal your heart. I know it did mine.
Enjoy this visual eye candy.

Soo Joo took the cover this month of Vogue Japan presenting something the Japanese have been celebrating for thousands of year. Gorgeous Asian women and martial arts.
Add an editorial by the talented Hyea Won Kang, with Soo Joo in black and white designs with classic martial art poses. The talent, the supermodel and a very cool take on exercise is a win win for Vogue Japan. (I must learn Japanese!)

Classic tradition meets modern monochrome. And as you all know who do read this I am all about modern monochrome.

Damien Hirst x Alexander McQueen Scarf Collab. Beauty in Nature #New #Beautiful #MustHave

amq-hirst_1118x620-1

I make no excuses, nor will I ever lie about my total and complete dedication to the House of McQueen. There is virtually nothing in their collections I do not covet.

The house of McQueen just released a new scarf collection. The collection features a collaboration with iconic artist Damien Hirst. Hirst’s career reigned supreme in the UK in 90s and continues to impress, and be iconic, in the art scene.

The new collection features a nature theme with symmetrical designs in the classic McQueen skull motif. Add the effervescent talent of Sølve Sundsbø who shot the collection AND directed an editorial video for the scarves. He is by far one of the great’s in the industry who constantly produces amazing photography. I am impressed with Burton, of the House of McQueen, to tap such amazing talent.

With such beautiful representation, I am in complete submission, and awe, of this collection.

Miley Does Marc….Jacobs that is. #SS2014 #Campaign

After seeing articles in the Huffpost, and spread across Facebook like some mad Miley disease I finally gave in, and took a look at Marc Jacobs SS 2014 Campaign. I expected to frankly, HATE it. I am over Miley Cyrus, here twerking, her tongue, and her goddam wrecking ball. I don’t really want to see her naked and smoking a blunt. That is why this totally took me by surprise;

original

I now believe in God. Or that God believes in Marc Jacobs.

This is astounding. Androgynous, and utterly beautiful. It shows a Miley Cyrus that is deep, genuine and stunning. Who knew?

When I got the actual campaign in my inbox and understood completely. Marc Jacobs has been working with Miley Cyrus on the skin cancer campaign. Featuring a bevy of nude celebs, as well as Cyrus. The campaign slogan is ‘Love the skin you’re in’ and the tee’s are racy, sexy and fun.

When Marc decided to feature Miley is his editorial campaign it came as no surprise. However, this is truly is. This is Marc Jacobs making art.

mcss14_09

It was for WWD Magazine! And it is a stunning editorial. He captured his line in spades. No wonder this came out as stunning art. I really have to say that the full photo has such intensity it reminds me why I am in the business.

Because Fashion is art. And if you cannot see the art in fashion, you probably should not be in it. And yes, you can quote me on that.

Well played Marc Jacobs, well-played.

This week I am meeting with the head of Bohemian Society, Victor. As I was researching him, his line and his daring and beautiful editorial’s, I noticed he worked with one of my favorite model’s du monde, Shaun Ross. If you haven’t heard of Shaun Ross, you will, NOW.

Shaun Ross in Bohemian Society

Shaun Ross in Bohemian Society

Shaun Ross is an amazing model who has worked runway, worked with Lana Del Rey, Katy Perry and appeared on a little show called ‘American Horror Story’. What makes him so distinct? He’s a black albino with white skin and natural blonde hair. Add the talent that is Jonas Akerlund, a Swedish (team Svenske) visionary of our time who has made video art again. The thought of the two of these talents alone is mind-blowing but all three?

Jonas Akerlund, with Bohemian society and Shaun Ross have created the final chapter of the amazing #DefineBeauty films.

Beyond the Skin

Jonas Åkerlund Takes Model Shaun Ross on a Hyperkinetic Trip Through LA in the Final #DefineBeauty Film

Here is an amazing editorial, with three if my favorite minds meeting, to make beautiful art.

Super Normal Super Models Wear The Best of Fall 2014 Fashion W Magazine

I can’t disguise that I am a Mert & Marcus fan girl. Their work is stunning, and often beyond comparison. Although everyone on Twitter is raving about the new shot they did with, Madonna (think sexy sultry HOT), I’m over taken with a new, raw and gentler beauty portrayed in their  “Super Normal Super Beauties” editorial this September in W Magazine (also feat. on Models.com).

With Kate Moss leading the younger generation of runway, both male and female, the talent includes; Daria Werbowy, Mariacarla Boscono, Raquel Zimmermann, Saskia de Brauw, Lara Stone, Suvi Koponen, Meghan Collison, Anna Ewers, Mica Arganaraz,Daan van der Deen, Filip Hrivnak and Steve Milatos. Not hard to take a good picture when there is that much pretty in one room. Mert & Marcus take to simplicity showing a sexy, yet surprisingly ‘normal’ shoot.

Despite the unadorned models and the dressed down look (shout out to the wardrobe stylist Edward Enninful), Mert and Marcus bring forth an inner beauty proving these runway divas and men are ‘Super Normal’, and damn beautiful. Mert & Marcus 25 photos prove pure beauty is best in its true form, and trumps all. Including, any overdone editorial.

Jean Paul Gaultier, Dior, Armani Prive, Valentino and of course Chanel showcase a youthful and carefree side of couture – still elegant but completely in line with the way modern women dress.

I don’t know about youthful and carefree as much as devastating, gorgeous and scintillating sexy.

Bravissimo, Karl Lagerfeld! Your creativity knows no bounds. Check the other four masterpieces below.

Trend Report #NYFW Baby Pinks, Blues and Bolds #Day5 #Trend #SS2015

Thank god for Style.com and their runway reporting. They report every collection, designer and runway worldwide and those of us in the industry would be lost without them. Especially when we are on the wrong side of the country during NYFW. But business is business and while I hustle and shake in LA (new products, events and interviews coming up) I still have my eye on Fashion Week’s around the world. You, my faithful reader’s, need to be in the know Otherwise there will be mayhem and fashionistas wandering the streets assuming Crocs, and the Kardashian’s are fashionable (gag).

Let’s get started;

This fashion week has been a bluster of basics and classic, romantic notions bring out baby pinks and icy blue to the runway. Chic silhouettes we saw with a touch of mad men, have turned to classic romantics and A-Line sporty outfits with a dash of sex.

Flowing figures and classic summer sexy hit DVF, aka, Diane Von Furstenburg. Diane is a great go to for classy and clean career wear. I highly recommend if you want to look top-notch A list fabulous for a job interview or day time event investing. Her clothing is always perfection.

DVF came through again on the SS 2015 runway. Relying on stripes and checked material adding length and volume created a work worthy collection with a little extra leg, and flare that came as a sexy surprise to her normally subdued dresses.

DVFcheck with leg

DVFKaitlinAas

Angeline Jolie has inspired a leggy look recently in gown’s and I completely approve.

Though many opted for orange this year DVF took to emerald bring and this stunning yellow on model Lais Ribeiro.

DVFLaisRibeiro

Ending the show in true runway fashion, model Naomi Campbell finished the spring collection in this flurry of tulle boasting orange, bright pink and white in an empire waist-lined, babydoll dress.

NaomiDVFWell played Dian Von Furstenbeg.

Moving on to a personal favorite, Zac Posen. His collections always bring me back to embracing my sexy side and make me feel like a woman. His designs create a perfect figure on any woman and his use of textile is genius!

We find that this Spring/Summer season Posen’s simple, classical, feminine beauty reigned free with minimalist black’s and white.

zacposenblack2
Adding the intensity of crimson orange to his collection Posen pair’s it with tight angle’s that create a thin and tall female form. Beauty fanatics, note the orange nail polish and lipstick Posen chose to feature on his models for dramatic flair.

ZacPosenOrangesuitAlekZac Posen continues to create the ideal of feminine grace in his collection by ending it with this beautiful gown fit for a queen in pure and simple white.

ZacPosenbridal

Over at another NYFW favorit BCBG Max Azria chose a more floral and romantic feel with in his collection for Spring/Summer 2015. Fading from barely-there neutral pink to the palest of blues and back to pink again. BCBG Max Azria touched on an almost art nouveau feel with yards of flowing fabric.

BCBGblancapdillaA dash of floral mixed pink’s and blue’s on Miho Mijaljcic create’s a perfect mix of elegant for this maxi dress.

And back to baby blue…

BCBGMijoMihaljcic bcbgTayaErmoshkinaBCBGStashaYatchukThis Spring maxi dresses have dominated the runway, leaving skin bare with a combination of sheer panels, deep V’s and off the shoulder or one shoulder pieces. Glowingly graceful is taking hold with career women boasting tight silhouette’s and deep slit’s in their skirt’s and suits.

It’s all about adding a dash of sexy to your daily routine so if you thought of slacking on exercise this winter, fuggedaboutit. Skin is in, and we’re going girly.

Time to start shopping for those skinny and sporty dresses and skirts for next season. Leave the pants at home and don’t forget to pair some gold greens, yellows, pink and my personal favorite ORANGE in with your shopping. If you aren’t sure how to do color try adding a hint to your nails, lip color or accessories.

I’ll keep updating as we travel the runways around the world. Keep checking back for updates!

Oh yes! Hello my sexy kittens. With my fabulous birthday passing (May 24th) I decided it was time for a long overdue update to my site. What you see here is a new format with fabulous, easy to ready fonts, pages, my styling port and more. I will be constantly undergoing construction because I am a total nerd girl and love updating techy things.

Soon there will be more media, videos, photos and blog posts than you can shake your iPhone at.

Much love and feedback is always welcome, though rarely taken seriously.

Happy reading,

Heathyr Wolfe

Kim Kardashian for Vogue Brazil Daily #VogueBrazil #KimKardashian #BlondAmbition

I am tired of a world where we are forcibly immersed in the world of the Kardashians. It’s boring and plastic and full of shameless selfies, and photo-shopped body parts. However every once in a while a photographer actually comes along and makes Kim look beautiful. Classic even. Which is what Vogue Brazil and Ellen Von Unwerth did in these shots of her.

Kim’s cover for Vogue Brazil shot by the tremendously talented Ellen Von Unwerth, speaks to me in classic volumes of simple beauty.

Reminiscent of the 70s, these photos are shot in more natural light then studio HMI’s (both were necessary), in such a way that Kim looks almost passable as a model, and less like a plasticine princess. Ellen cast her in a light that creates her looking like a late Monroe and 70’s pin-up porn girl. Simple elegance mixed with a dash of homegrown smut.

Congratulations Ellen von Unwerth. Your talent shined in this editorial.

Oh and Kim looks nice too.

The last week have been a whirlwind. I recently got back from a relaxing and enjoyable month-long vacation in the California Redwoods.

Look, city folk this is what trees look like...

Look, city folk this is what trees look like…

Apparently it was too relaxing because the second I headed back to LA I got double booked on some amazing shoots.

The first was for a longtime acquaintance in LA who is tiny, cute and beyond fit, model and performer Elizabeth Deo. She’s not only a professional but an absolute delight. All the photos are heading straight to the sexy and scintillating ‘Manic Magazine’.

It was a crushing 102F but thankfully all Elizabeth is a complete professional and only required lingerie.

Eugenia has been a runway and print model for tons of amazing clients, such as;

Armani Jeans, Dior sunglasses, GAP, Arden B, Express, Kenzi, Replay Jeans, Sephora, and L’Oreal.[2] She has been also featured in magazines, such as Elle, Harper’s  Bazaar, Marie Claire, Japanese and Russian Vogue, GQ, Self, Shape, As well as catalogs for Hermès and Cartier.

In her early 20’s she transitioned into acting and has most recently been in ‘Fury’ with Brad Pitt.

It’s not hard to see why I love this woman, She’s tall, gorgeous, leggy, talented and, a supermom. Her most recent photography project is creating a coffee table book I have been lucky enough to work on with her as a Art Director and Key Stylist. It’s all about being a supermodel/supermom.

We had an amazing shoot day and got the kids wired on sugar. A perfect combo for amazing shots. Here are some of the behind the scenes photos

I want to thank my kick ass crews that made it possible, my sexy ass models Elizabeth Deo and Eugenia Kuzmina, and look forward to working with you all again!

What’s next for this little wardrobe stylista? A shoot for Powder Room Magazine. Everyday is a runway kittens, make today yours!

Keep checking back for new blog posts and updates.
